What makes PowerBoard different from other infrared panels?

The integrated PB-S-250 recesses flush into the ceiling void and can be plastered straight over, so the heating disappears completely, no visible panel at all. Most infrared panels on the market only surface mount. Add a 30 year design life, a 10 year warranty, and BEAB certification 30095 on the 250, and the difference is substance, not styling.

Which panel do I need for my room?

As a guide, the 250W covers up to about 4m², the 500W about 8m² and the 750W about 13m², but the honest answer depends on the room’s heat loss, not just its area. The free heat loss survey or the System Designer sizes it properly rather than guessing.

Do you do underfloor heating as well?

Yes. Alongside the ceiling panels we supply an electric underfloor heating film, 1.4mm thick in 160 and 220 W/m² outputs, laid under tile, stone, dense hardwood and some laminates. For most homes we still recommend the ceiling first; the floor wins in specific situations, and we say which honestly.

The PB-S-250 holds BEAB certification 30095, the UK’s leading safety mark for electric heating. The range is CE, UKCA and RoHS marked, carries a 10 year warranty, and is built to a 30 year design life.

What do they cost to run?

Accepted Answer

A 250W panel costs about 6p an hour at 24.5p/kWh. Real running cost depends on insulation and thermostat cycling, panels only draw power part of the time once a room is at temperature, so see the running costs page for figures by room and house size with the basis stated.
